Board of Directors

• Create a volunteer structure (501(c)(3) nonprofit or other)1.
• Determine necessary committees.
• Develop committee job descriptions.

• Recruit your Community Outreach Committee and Chair.

Community Outreach Committee

• Identify all the different audiences you need to involve for community-wide support.
• Develop a contact plan to reach the different audiences.
• Identify various ways to share ownership of the  farm and its services throughout your community.
• Schedule regular presentations to local civic organizations and other community groups to report on your plans, yours needs, and your progress.  Consider writing a set speech that anyone could give, or show our Farm in the Dell video, to be released in 1999.
• Recruit volunteers (especially teachers) to make ongoing presentations.
